Blòt

Blòt - which takes its name from pagan sacrifice that was made by the peoples of Northern Europe to the Scandinavian Gods - It's a musical project conceived by the italian multi istrumentalist Orlando Li Mandri (electronic, singer, percussion, strings), founded in 2016 with Leonardo Sorrentino (Didgeridoo, String, Troath-Singing), who try to create experimental soundscapes.

Since 2017 the duo has unofficially disbanded, becoming a solo project of Orlando Li Mandri, with whom he released more than ten albums also released on labels like Black Mara Records.

For this project, which combines electronic music and native musical instruments, such as percussion in bone, wood, shells, body instruments as voices and throat singing, but also tools such as frame drums and didgeridoo, to try to create an epic ambience, dark, penetrating, a sounds from the northen european iron age and viking period. 

Orlando Li Mandri

Orlando was born in Bologna in 1994, and at the turn of 15 to 16 years began to approach the musical composition, following lessons of classical guitar and electronic music. In 2015 he then began to attend various percussion classes such as djembe and darbuka.

 

Over the years he has ranged in many genres, starting from the musical environment of rave, then moving to the music of drum & bass, darkpsy, ambient, noise, folk and world music, boasting seven musical projects, of which five still active.
